It is generally agreed that the German Design Council (Rat für Formgebung) is the most important design body in Germany. Each year, it bestows the German Design Award. For over 60 years, it has been Germany’s central institution for providing trans-disciplinary design services and it has been promoting exceptional design since 1953.
Pfleiderer is one of the big winners for 2017. The company will be awarded three of these prestigious prizes on 10 February in Frankfurt – a triple crown! In the ‘Material and Surfaces’ category, the jury gave a ‘Special Mention’ to the ‘Natural Wood’ and ‘Mattlack’ surface textures, as well as to ‘Duropal-HPL SolidColor XTreme’.
‘Natural Wood’ is a precise wood reproduction for HPL and faced particleboard that won over the jury with its universal range of applications. It can, for example, be used for Scandinavian-style interior fittings.
The award-winning ‘Mattlack’ is a matt lacquered surface texture that is ideally suited to particleboard and fibreboard as well as high-pressure laminates. After winning an award in 2016, this is the second award for
‘Duropal-HPL SolidColor XTreme’. The exceptional surface quality of this product means that it is now possible for designers and processors to work with heavy-duty surfaces that do not have any visible edges or joints.
