Investing in Growth

Prospects

Michael Wolff, CEO of Pfleiderer Group S.A., has announced a growth trajectory for the company (see the interview in this magazine). In order to be able to cater for the planned and expected demand as well as possible, the company has already made investments, including at its Neumarkt and Grajewo sites.

The increase in housing construction in Germany is accelerating the demand for wood-based panels. The Pfleiderer factory in Neumarkt, Europe’s largest particleboard production site, has already been running at full capacity for several months and is undergoing modernisation costing nine million euros. One of the most important aspects of this is the modification of the production building in order to increase the warehousing capacity. The transportation routes within the factory are also being optimised. The sanding line and the glue warehouse are being modernised as well.

In Grajewo, Pfleiderer invested around ten million euros as part of the ‘4Pack’ project. Four new production lines – for sanding, applying lacquering, cutting to size and packaging – were established in stages. Even just the changes to HDF lacquering have led to a 30 percent increase in production capacity. The increased efficiency of the facilities offers all of the Pfleiderer Group’s clients a high degree of individuality for HDF products.
